Jason Ray - 2021 Awardee

Director, Center for Resource Planning and Management

From student to staff member, Jason has continued a personal and professional commitment to public affairs and life as a Citizen Bear.  Many of Jason's volunteer projects and positions impact both local and the broader society.

Currently serving as President, Jason has been involved with planning the Springfield Black Tie Gala for over 7 years.  A 100% volunteer organization serving the LGBTQ+ communities of Missouri, they are set to accomplish the $1 million milestone in charitable disbursements.

In addition, Jason serves on Springfield's Planning & Zoning Commission and is current President of the Missouri Chapter of the American Planning Association.  He also spearheaded the Southwest Missouri Complete Count Committee for the 2020 Census.  This was a huge commitment and accomplishment that engaged over 70 local governments and 60 plus organizations.  Jason's leadership ensured accurate counts so that Missouri received its appropriate funding for local and statewide programs and appropriate representation in Congress so as to continue our voice in government.

For his numerous volunteer hours and leadership in local and statewide initiatives, we recognize Jason as a 2021 Excellence in Community Service awardee.
