2020-21 Honoree - Dr. Diana Garland

Dr. Garland has 30 years of service to the university in a wide range of roles.  Currently the Director of the Learning Commons and Co-Director of the Bear CLAW, Diana has worked in the College of Business and as Distance Learning Director for MSU Outreach.  She has spent years involved in the activities of Staff Senate and helped to create a strong campus involvement for breast cancer awareness.  Some of her most rewarding work is through demonstrating and instilling the principles of public affairs with students from all academic disciplines and cultures.  She models public affairs both on and off campus and has developed training programs with modules on cultural competency and ethical behavior to support students in their understanding of public affairs.
