2016-17 Honoree - Darren Young

With over 20 years of service to the University, Darren Young has found his calling in the Office of International Programs. Darren’s ability to find service gaps and seek solutions, has led to the development of new student organizations, campus projects and process improvements for the recruitment and retention of international students. One such program is the Cultural Corner, which brings together international and domestic students, and community members, to exchange knowledge and ideas about each other’s cultures in a safe and inclusive environment.  Darren’s passion is mentoring, problem solving, resolving conflicts, and building cultural competency among the entire community.
