Dr. Ashley Leinweber has used the public affairs mission as a guidepost for teaching, research and service.  A focus on African and international politics, her energy and devotion to cultural competence, social justice and diversity offers students multiple perspectives, real world learning and ethical leadership opportunities.  Some of her most fulfilling public affairs work has been in the renewal of MSU’s Model UN Club, the African and African American Studies Committee and the LGBTQ Faculty/Staff Association.  In addition, she leads the Springfield Peace Corps Volunteer Group and spends many pro bono hours as a Congo expert in human rights asylum cases.
