Addie Douglas - 2017 Awardee
Custodial Forman, Foster Recreation Center
Addie Douglas is recognized for her varied contributions to the Springfield community. For over 23 years, Addie’s volunteerism has covered a diverse set of interests and projects that impact children, families and military veterans.
A retired Air Force veteran, she is particularly involved in the American Legion Post 434, serving as historian to the Auxiliary, organizing group volunteer projects and visiting veterans in Mt. Vernon and surrounding areas. Addie motto is to lend a helping hand whenever, wherever and however is needed. Whether scrapbooking memories for the Miracle League Network, coaching sports, running marathons, leading Girl Scouts or organizing food at Crosslines – there is no endeavor to small or to challenging to take on.
For these reasons we are proud to recognize Addie Douglas as a recipient of the 2017 Staff Excellence in Community Service Award.
