Dealing with Disappointment - Listening to Your Inner Voice

Watch this recorded presentation

Disappointment occurs when we have an expectation or a desire about how we want something to turn out, and it doesn’t go the way we wanted.   No one is immune to disappointment and we all have different ways of coping with it.   Join in a discussion about different types of responses to disappointment and learn how to respond assertively.   This Public Affairs Talks! will cover how to use your thoughts, and your voice, to change disappointment into a learning mindset to strengthen your future.

As we thoroughly explore disappointment, we will cover problem-focused and emotion-focused strategies to cope with the myriad of emotions that disappointment brings.   The college experience, as well as the current political climate, will be discussed specifically in the coping portion of the session.  Our goal will be that you can find your voice, use your voice, and listen to your voice while addressing disappointment in your own life.
